The worst part was the feelings they had at the treatment they received at the end of their tours when they were snuck back home at the dead of night, as if they were something to be ashamed of.

I have always felt a certain amount of shame over this.

Only veterans have the credibility to start this sort of thing, but if they do I will do everything I can to help.Jim Fryarhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15780237902858889143noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3060534295892170518.post-10210541474432118062007-12-17T05:43:00.000+10:002007-12-17T05:43:00.000+10:00JimGathering of Eagles in America is not only Vete...Jim
Gathering of Eagles in America is not only Veterans, but Patriot non-Veterans as well. We do a lot of counter protesting the anti war left, very successfully. We also go to the Veterans hospitals supporting for our wounded warriors. Eagles send cards and packages to the war zones letting the men and women fighting for freedom know we have their backs at home. Our new Motto is “Never Again”, "Never Again" will our returning war veterans be treated with the dishonor our Vietnam Vets were treated, all Veterans returning from wars will be treated with honor, and We owe them all a great debt. We will not surrender the battlefield while we are winning the war nor when the outcome is in doubt. This are some of what the Motto means to Eagles ““Never Again” Means to me that never again will commanders in the United States stand before his troops and warn them about walking alone or wearing their uniforms down town. “Never Again” Will Veterans returning home be dishonored for standing up for freedom. “Never Again” Will our military be treated as second-class citizens, “Never Again” Will we sit by and watch while the leftist minority defines our young men and women and makes them into something that they are not. Amen Sir, We must never allow one military member to return home to a group of hate filled people who have no pride, no respect & are not worth the mud on their combat boots, for attacks on their service, as a way to justify their own lack of worth to America.
The GOE must live on forever, we current members must show the way to those who follow, build our knowledge base, learn to find funding ,to carry the fight to those who wish our defeat. this is why each new member is so very important. Please reach out every day to find those who will look inward and find the need to act, now.
See you on the rally line, as a Vietnam Vet I owe this to my nation, my military and I ask for nothing in return but to know I was a part of "Never Again", the motto that binds each of us together.
May God forever bless each of you who do your very best to insure there will never be a reason for a vet to face evil for their efforts to insure our freedom. “Never again will one generation of veterans abandon another.”

We lobby politicians to do the right thing by our troops. I could go on and on, Check us out at http://gatheringofeagles.orgSassySuzhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07753214927874928021noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3060534295892170518.post-13721691378078614272007-12-17T03:57:00.000+10:002007-12-17T03:57:00.000+10:00"I hope Australian veterans form such a group; I h..."I hope Australian veterans form such a group; I have a feeling they will be sorely needed".

Jim, I searched for and was unable to find an article about Rolling Thunder XX and Gathering of Eagles II over Memorial Day week-end in Washington DC. I attended this and took a lot of pictures GOE II 5-26-07
and GOE II 5-27-07. I was very honored to meet a large group of Vietnam Veterans from Australia.

The Vietnam Veterans from Australia were a great bunch of people. There was a lot of them on the back side of the Lincoln Memorial on Sunday when Rolling Thunder was coming across the bridge.

They had the cahoonas (sp?) to yell out “Any Veterans Here”? Then gave those veterans pins, hugs and shirts (just like they wore). That’s me holding the shirt they gave me, and insisted that I get in their picture with their flags. Our Vietnam Brothers from Australia were treated badly after the war, just like American Vietnam Veterans were.

These Eagles that flew from the other side of the world to get to Washington DC for GOE II, and then gave us --- the shirt off their back.

Visit their website www.vvaa.org.au/index.htm the News page plays the music “POSTCARDS FROM SAIGON” by James Blundell…

---

Jim, I like to encourage and help you and your idea of forming such a group in Australia. Today one person can indeed make a difference like never before. The Gathering of Eagles and other like minded groups are making a big differences in America.

You are indeed Eagles already by your deeds and actions.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3060534295892170518.post-37233789046999330872007-12-16T22:14:00.000+10:002007-12-16T22:14:00.000+10:00Rosecovered Glasses, I am glad to have you over he...Rosecovered Glasses, I am glad to have you over here and I can see some of what you refer to. I am currently writing a post related to this problem, the prospective title being; Johnstown Gets Billions So Why are The People Leaving?

I can understand the MIC will because of the size of your military being very large, be very large itself.

What I am increasingly noticing however is that huge earmarks are being made, for projects not requested by the Pentagon, which is political, and probably corrupt.Jim Fryarhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15780237902858889143noreply@blogger.com
