Government, empowering your local snitch.
This should spice up those neighbourhood feuds, what could go wrong?

Projects like Crime stoppers and neighbourhood watch have been useful in the past to prevent and investigate criminal activities. Noticing this, governments have been anxious to expand the scope of these activities into thought crime and anti social activities.
Anna Bligh, the Queensland Premier has just come up with the neighbourhood snitchpogrom program. Under new waste laws to being introduced, busybodies, self righteous twats, and even those who want to get even, will be empowered to report litterers to the local commissar and also will give the government the authority to issue fines based on public reports. For showing such intense public spirit, they will have the satisfaction of seeing their enemies fined up to $16,500:

For the first time in Queensland's history, members of the public can report littering and illegal dumping and have something done about it. New waste laws to be introduced in December will give the government the authority to issue fines based on public reports.Meanwhile in Austin Texas, council is investigating a scheme where residents will be able to have parking tickets issued by taking a few photographs of someone else's car with their smartphones. George Soros-funded organizations, created the Android, Blackberry and iPhone parking ticket app, which encourages cities to adopt the program because they can "generate revenue." The system requires a person take three photographs of the alleged violator …
The anti-littering legislation and online reporting system would allow witnesses to general littering or the dumping of rubbish a chance to report this activity.
As a deterrent against false or vexatious reporting, a number of questions would be asked, such as did they know the litterbug and were they prepared to give evidence in court. Environment Minister Vicky Darling said it was alarming that after decades of campaigns, Keep Australia Beautiful's 2011 litter study still ranked Queensland as the most littered state.
"It needs to stop ... the community has had enough of people who can't be bothered doing the right thing," she said. "This will make people think twice before they throw cigarette butts and food wrappers from their cars.”

ReplyDeleteGreat clip Angry. These pricks are so desperate for revenue they are happy to use any method available to fine us.
ReplyDeleteBligh increased all traffic fines a couple of years ago because the odd hundred or so dollars here and there was "not enough to discourage bad behavior among road users."
