Tables turned; Gingrich slams Mathews as racist
Probably one of the worst mistakes the Republicans made during the last presidential campaign was endorsing Romney rather than Newt Gingrich, who while not offering much to the pro liberty elements of the party, could have carried the election and been better than Obama. For a conservative, Newt makes a fair bit of sense and can seriously challenge the liberals.
Conservatives have been pilloried by liberal shills like Chris Mathews for perceived ‘racism’, which despite the wildly circuitous route to such a conclusion, many are unable to rebut. Gingrich tosses it back at Mathews with a challenge to prove that he is not the racist one.
MATTHEWS: You can laugh about it, but you don't think you've used it in the past? What’s a food stamp president?
GINGRICH: A food stamp president is a guy whose policies are so destructive, that he creates the longest unemployment since the Great Depression and he puts more people on food stamps, most of them white, than anybody else. Why do you assume food stamp refers to black? What kind of racist thinking do you have? Wait a second! Why aren’t you being a racist because you assume it refers to black?H/t Newsbusters
