Lou Barletta Versus 'Democrat Deceivers' Kanjorski.
Hazleton Mayor Lou Barletta is another of those who can make a significant difference in the November elections. He is standing against Kanjorski for Congress in Northeast Pennsylvania’s 11th District.
Recently I wrote a post on Congressman Paul Kanjorski’s admission that the Democrats lied to the American people on ending the war in Iraq.
“Didn't say it, but we implied it – that we, if we won the Congressional elections, we could stop the war. Now anybody who is a good student of government would know that wasn't true. But you know, the temptation to want to win back the Congress, we sort of stretched the facts – and people ate it up.”Kanjorski, is a national disgrace and a strong campaign will hopefully give the people of the 11th district the opportunity to expunge this shame.
I have been pleasantly surprised in this election with the excellent quality of the GOP candidates from PA. I believe that with these candidates campaigning strongly and backing themselves to win they may not only make a difference in Congress, but could pull the state out of the fire for John McCain.

U.S. Congressional candidate Hazleton Mayor Lou Barletta issued the following statement in response to remarks made by U.S. Rep. Paul Kanjorski about the Iraq War during a town hall meeting in August. The comments were captured on videotape.
“This is truly a sad day. The most sacred decision a member of Congress has is the decision to send our brave men and women to war. It is apparent that Congressman Paul Kanjorski has betrayed that trust,” Barletta said. “When a sitting member of the U.S. House of Representatives admits to playing politics with the lives of our soldiers, sailors, airmen, and Marines, it is a national disgrace. What is worse is that he admits to it on video, and he admits to deceiving the American people in order to win a political campaign.
“Last Saturday, I was honored to walk in the Armed Forces Day parade in Scranton. It was humbling to be in the presence of true American heroes. To see this video today should make every American pause and ask just exactly who is representing us and our armed forces.
“As an American, I am shocked and saddened by this revelation. It is clearer today than ever before that Paul Kanjorski lacks the courage and leadership to remain in Congress. I hope the men and women who serve in our military will understand that Paul Kanjorski’s tactics and belief system is not a reflection of the good citizens of Northeastern Pennsylvania.
“Mr. Kanjorski’s statements are appalling and disgraceful. He cannot hide behind his staff and consultants this time. He has a lot of explaining to do – and he needs to do it now.”
